Welcome to Torpedoes Swim Team TT
Torpedoes Swim Team TT (TST) formally known as Torpedoes Swim Club (TSC) has been in existence for more than twenty (25) years and was established by Mr. Ronald Corke, President of the club. On January 16, 2017 Torpedoes Swim Club hosted a re-launch ceremony for the branding of Torpedoes Swim Team TT (TST) at La Joya Conference Room, St. Joseph. Our aquatics program was established to provide opportunities for our our community through the sport of swimming. We are a member of the Amateur Swimming Association of Trinidad and Tobago (ASATT), committed to building excellence in athletes through the sport of swimming at the highest level of competition.
LEARN to SWIM:
We believe that positive early experiences in our lessons create a lifetime of fun and confidence in water. Swimming is an essential life skill that all children can master and enjoy with practice. Our goal is to produce skillful and safe swimmers through constant reinforcement and repetition in our unique year-round program. Our program provides motivation and support for children at every level, from their first splash to gaining their enhanced aquatic skills.
Our program levels will challenge those who took a preschool program, but will also provide a starting point for children with limited swimming experience. The program teaches competitive and survival strokes, as well as increasing the distance and speed that each swimmer can achieve, while focusing on making safe decisions in, on and around the water.
YOUNG ADULTS and TEENS
Our Learn to Swim program also recognizes the importance of encouraging young adults/teenagers to take swimming lessons and feeds into competitive program. There are three levels in this program to incorporate all interests and needs of young adults/teenagers.
Swim One Basic-No previous swimming experience required.
Swim Two Basic-Possesses swimming experience and desires to learn different swimming strokes.
Swim Three Sports-Possesses swimming experience and desires greater participation in the sport to enhance individual goals. This level encompasses a framework for the development of children’s physical literacy (fundamental movement skills and sport-specific skills) and aims to encourage lifelong participation in sport and physical activity. It includes seven key stages, with clear progression routes from ‘Active Start’ right through to ‘Active for Life’.
